Contribution of Cover Crop Residue Decomposition to Peach Tree Nitrogen Nutrition

چکیده
Cover crop nitrogen (N) cycling has an important role in agricultural production and contributes to peach [Prunus persica (L.) Batsch] N nutrition. This study evaluated black oat (Avena strigosa Schreb) ryegrass (Lolium multiflorum L.) residue decomposition dynamics, recovery from cover residues, compartmentalization tree organs. A 2-year field trial was developed with labeled (3.6–4.0 atom% 15N excess) shoot biomass application a 5-year-old orchard. The region’s climate is warm temperate (Cfb), the soil classified as Typic Hapludalf. Litter bags unlabeled residues were also deposited orchard assess biomass, carbon (C), N, lignin, cellulose, non-structural dynamics. After 13 months, leaves, trunk, roots showed greatest proportion of derived (Ndfr) (35.4, 25.1, 22.4%, respectively) while concentrations Ndfr occurred <2 mm (0.0376 0.94%, respectively). shoots second cycle similar among Ryegrass presented highest constant (k) values for dry matter, total organic (TOC), lignin. Hence, higher half-life (t½) TOC, mature trees expressively low (<1%) between species. Within organs, leaves during flowering stage, when rate occurred. Soil plant internal reserves are major sources newly formed but greater contributions nutrition may occur long-term deposition different

Remote sensing of crop residue cover and soil tillage intensity
Management of plant litter or crop residues in agricultural fields is an important consideration for reducing soil erosion and increasing soil organic C. Current methods of quantifying crop residue cover are inadequate for characterizing the spatial variability of residue cover within fields or across large regions. Our objectives were to evaluate several spectral indices for measuring crop res...

This study setout to investigate the effect of wheat residue, tillage, and nitrogen fertilizer management on some agronomic traits of soybean as a split split plot based on randomized complete block design with three replications. The main plots included wheat residue management: collecting and leaving residue and sub plot included tillage (without tillage and conventional tillage), and the sub...

Land management practices affect the long term sustainability of agricultural soils. Growing Forward, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s (AAFC) agricultural policy framework, has identified promoting environmentally responsible agriculture as one of the department’s priorities. Land management information requirements have become increasingly important to a number of programs and policies suppo...

Management of crop residues is an important consideration for reducing soil erosion and increasing soil organic carbon. Current methods of measuring residue cover are inadequate for characterizing the spatial variability of residue cover over large fields. The objectives of this research were to determine the spectral reflectance of crop residues and soils and to assess the limits of discrimina...
متن کاملLeaching and Sorption of Nitrogen and Phosphorus by Crop Residue
Overland flow from cropland areas often contains nutrients and residue materials can either contribute to runoff nutrient load through leaching or remove nutrients by sorption. Measurements were made of leaching and sorption of nitrogen and phosphorus from corn (Zea mays L.), soybean (Glycine max (L.) Merr.) and winter wheat (Triticum aestivum L. cv. Pastiche) residues placed in solutions conta...
